Weekly Update

April 22, 2007

Greeeting friends!  It feels as if it has been a very non-productive week.  Maybe that is because it is true.  I haven’t really accomplished much but I will fill you in on what I have done.

First off I started the week by presenting a Temple Talk to Beitel lUtheran on the Century Club.  I am not sure as to how successful I was as Frank hasn’t told me and I haven’t really bugged him about it.  If I am not mistaken I should be receiving a report from him this week sometime.  I developed a few slides that I used and I will put them on the web page for you all to use if you have the capability to present slide presentations in your church.

I set up an appointment for Wednesday, April 25th with Dr Charles Oestreich and Charlie Schwartz so we can talk about preparations for the 2008 assembly.  I will present them with the feedback I have received from some of the board members at this time.

I cancelled the retreat because we only had 4 people attending.  I asked everyone to let me know whether May 5th or 12th was best for them and have received 5 responses – 2  that can make either day, 1 can make it on 5th, 1 can make it on 12th and 1 can’t make it at all.  I will prod the others and hopefully have a firm date mailed out to you Wednesday evening.  We really do need to get together and get working.

I spoke with Lanne Brehmer and he is going to try and print out a copy of the tri-fold brochure I developed for our group.  Frank Pennington actually started talking to Lanne first but then asked me to take over.  So I sent a copy of the brochure and talked with Lanne and things are looking good.  I hope to have these to put out on the display table at the Synod Assembly.  Charlie and I will also be discussing this at our meeting Wednesday and I will let you know more as it evolves.

That is all I have managed to do this week besides also posting a couple of things on the website.  So I will close now.  Until next time may God Bless you and yours!  I look forward to sharing more with you next time.
