Weekly Update

Greetings to all the men in the Southwestern Texas Synod! I am sorry I missed last weeks update but I was away on a business trip and could not get logged on to an ISP service and do a report and send it out. Hopefully, that won’t happen again for a while.

So what have I been up to, Well I managed to reserve 2 tables at the Synod Assembly so that we can have a table with our display board set up and pass out tri-fold brochures I am having printed up. You can see what I am talking about by going to our web site and clicking on the About Men in Mission and then on the word brochure. Also the last time I forgot to give Calvin credit for helping Charlie make the crosses and would like to let you all know he has helped too. As a matter of fact that is what is so great about this group of men – We all help out and probably never get told Thank You! Well I for one would like to thank all the people who are involved in the Synod LMM because you do an awesome job. Please keep up the good work.

I have also been working with Base Huston, Rodger Johnson, Dan Wilkerson and Frank Pennington on the Century Club. Base gave a Temple Talk last Sunday and we now have 10 people from Our Savior who have given a gift to the ministry, I am going to give a Temple Talk at Beitel this weekend and I hope other LMM members will be doing the same at their churches in the next few weeks. If you would like a set of notes to build your talk off of there is a set of notes on the Century Club page on the Web Site. These notes, along with the bulletin inserts, which have some information on the ministry and an application on the reverse side, are also available on the Century Club page on the website and can help to spark an interest and get things going. So if you are a men’s ministry leader in your congregation please feel free to use these tools and give a Temple Talk on the Century Club. If you need help just give me or any other member of the board a call and we will help you out.

I have been working on the goals I want to share with everyone and hopefully I will have them to share with you next week. Until then I guess I will close because I haven’t really done anything else this week. Take and may God Bless you and yours!
