HOMBRES mens group at OSLC in existence since mid 90’s

LMM is churchwide organization of mens ministries.

LMM has an active presence in SWTS congregations.

· Century Club History:

At the LMM annual assembly in Feb 2006, voted to form a fund raising entity.

Would be patterned after the “Committee of 100” in S. Carolina synod.

Very successful—over 600 members.

Instructed our board to study and form a similar club to provide funds

in support of ministries in the SWTS.

· Board Actions during 2006:

Recruited a committee of three men from different conferences.

Assigned three major tasks:

1. Determine a single ministry to support

2. Recommend a name for the club.

3. Establish general guidelines for operation of the club.

· Actions of the committee during 2006 and recommendations to the board:

Spoke with Pastors and church leaders around the synod.

Came up with a common theme all over the synod-Child Hunger.

Recommended we call our club “The Century Club”

The board will appoint a treasurer and secretary to handle collection of funds.

The board will have oversight responsibility.

Positions should be volunteer to minimize overhead costs to the club.

Operate via grant application and award to congregations on annual basis.

Provide funds on an increasing schedule each year-maximize size of grants.

· Above recommendations were approved by the board in Jan 2007.

· Program presented at LMM annual assembly in Feb 2007 – program started.

· Goal is to have over 100 members by the end of 2007 with continued growth

through the coming years.
