Lutheran Men in Mission is a group of men in a
Lutheran congregation that meet together to further
their knowledge of God's Word, to do God's work and
to develop relationships, yes I said relationships,
with other Lutheran men. It is growing closer with
other men while sharing experiences, good or bad,
that they have had or are currently undergoing in
their lives and finding that other men have had or
are having the same experiences. It is having these
men say "How can we help you?" and actually mean it
and having people who truly mean it when they say
"You will be in our prayers."
Lutheran Men in Mission is a group of men who will
get together on a Saturday morning and have a big
breakfast and then have a Bible study and then go and
do maintenance work at the church or a shut-ins
house. It can also be a group of men coming together
to do a special project for the Lord and be happy
doing it.
Every church that has a men's group has a men in
mission group. You just might not know it at the
current time. However, if you are wanting to start a
group then you have come to the right place. We have
many people who are interested in helping you to get
your men's ministry going because that is what the
men's group really is a men's ministry. Each man in
the group brings unique talents to the table to
perform God's work and should be encouraged to
continue to belong and support your activities.
Don't start off trying to do to much.
If you have a bunch of men who get together and want
to know more about Men in Mission then call one of
the synod LMM leaders and they will only be too happy
to come and talk with you about the focus, structure
and benefits of LMM membership.
If you would like to share this information with any
other men we have a brochure that explains a little
more about what we as members of LMM do and who we
are. Please feel free to print it off and pass it
out to your friends.
