Notes From Our
President
February 19, 2007 - Greetings all!  I would like to take a
minute and say thanks to all of you who attended the
assembly in Seguin this past Saturday and elected me
the president of the organization.  I promise you I will do
my best to make sure that our Men's Ministry remains
visible in our synod.  Toward that end I am focusing on
finding representatives from the Austin and Victoria
Conferences so that we might spread the word in those
areas.  I also hope to make the Century Club an
important piece of our ministry and of course will also
make sure the Swings for Seniors remains a vital part of
our ministry.  If you have questions or ideas please do
not hesitate to share them with me.  My address and
phone number are listed on the Leadership Page.  Take
care and God Bless!

Rough Draft of My Goals for Synod LMM
President's Update - 7/16/07
August 13th, 2007 - Sad News -  It is with a very heavy heart
that I must share with you the passing of Charlie Schwartz.
Charlie lost his fight with liver cancer on August 10, 2007 and
he was laid to rest today, August 13, 2007 in Fredericksburg,
TX.  Please keep Charlie's family in your prayers.  The Eulogy
was given by Dr. Charles Oestreich.  He read a message from
Doug Haugen, the Director of LMM. Click
here to see what the
message said.
August 18th, 2007 - The board held it's meeting today and I
think we had a very productive meeting.  We have made
some progress in the goals I have set and I am confident in
saying we are rising to the tasks at hand.  I hope and pray you
all have a good Labor Day.  Take care and God Bless!
Presidential Update - November 29, 2007
January 21, 2008 - I apologize for not providing more updates over the
past few months but I  was a little busy with teh holidays and family.
Anyway, I am back now and want to let everyone know that our Annual
LMM Synod Assembly is coming up in a few weeks, February 16th to be
exact.  It is being held at Zion Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg.  We
have 2 speakers, Mr Gaary Moore, a financial consultant who will be
talking about sirtual lead investin in church and for your future and Mr.
Doug Haugen, Director of the Lutheran Men in Mission, ELCA  lined up to
share with us.  We also have 4 workshops available to help us prepare
ourselves for leadership roles in the church, a better prayer life, how to
help the congregational men's group earn funds and one to help us look
at ways to blend the rural and urban congregations to better meet our
mission.  We also will be presenting the first Grant Checks from the
Century Club at the annual meeting to those congregations who
submitted a Grant Request.  So all in all it prosmises to be a busy day and
one that we hope will be of interest and benifit to all attendees.

We will be presenting the first Charlie Schwartz, Lutheran Men in Mission
of Southwestern Texas Synod Layman Award.  This award is named after a
very dedicated member of our the LMM who passed away this summer.
We hope to have his wife and step-son there to witness this presentation
to a great and honorable man.

So please mark your calendars for this important and very worthwhile
event dedicated to men.  Crosstrails Ministry is making rooms available
for attendees and they also have RV spots at Camp Ebert available for
those who prefer to travel in their homes.

If you have questions please feel free to give me a call at (210) 347-6338.
The registration forms/assembly flyers are available
here.

Look forward to seeing you in Fredericksburg.  God Bless
