                                                           SWTX  LMM BOARD MEETING
                                                                               MINUTES
                                                                          APRIL 7, 2006


The board of the SWTX  LMM met at Camp Ebert in Harper, Texas on April 7, 2006 at 7:45 P.M.  The meeting was
called to order by Karl Vermace, president.  The following persons were in attendance :  Karl Vermace, Leroy
DeHaven, Pastor Charles Eckert, Al Sunday, and Charlie Schwartz.

The meeting was opened with a devotion and prayer given by Pastor Eckert.

In the absence of the secretary, Leroy DeHaven was appointed to take minutes.

The minutes from December 10, 2005, were approved as written.

The treasurer, Leroy DeHaven,  reported a balance of $1286.34 in the operating budget.  

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

FINANCE:  The budget for the year was reviewed.  The board directed the treasurer to send a letter to each church
having a men’s group informing them of the budget and requesting that they submit a donation to the synod
treasurer.

BIBLE DISTRIBUTION: The president reported that 90 Bibles had been given to the synod MIM.  All 90 bibles have
been  assigned to churches requesting them.

WEB PAGES: The president thanked Dennis Hickey for his efforts in putting together the web pages.

Tri Synodical LMM Formation:  The next meeting of the group will be held on April 22 in Austin, Texas.

Church wide activities:  Karl Vermace passed around a letter from the National LMM concerning the new mission of
LMM.

100 Man Club: The board appointed the following to be on the steering committee for the 100 Man Club:  Base
Huston, McAllen; Dan Wilkerson, Corpus Christi; and Roger Johnson, New Braunfels.  Karl Vermace will be in
contact with the committee.

Re-cap of LMM 06 assembly:  Over-all the comments were very positive.

LMM 07 assembly:  The next assembly will be held at Faith Lutheran in Sequin.  Motion by Charlie Schwartz and
seconded by Leroy DeHaven that a date in February, 2007, be worked out with Faith.  Dr. Charles Oestreich will be
the liaison with the board and Faith Lutheran.

Synod Assembly:  The synod assembly for the SWTX Synod will be held in Corpus Christi on May 19th.  The SWTX
LMM will have a display.  Karl Vermace will contact people to obtain door prizes and will arrange for men to be at the
display at all times.

Swing Project: This is an ongoing project, and swings are still being accepted.  Members were encouraged to
contact local lumber yards for donations.


CONFERENCE REPORTS:

Hill Country:  Charlie Schwartz reported that the Fall Festival will be held on the 3rd  Saturday of September. A
planning session will be held on April 18 at 2:00 P.M.

Coastal Bend: Leroy DeHaven reported that a conference breakfast will be held on May 6 at Galilean Lutheran at 8:
00 A.M.

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M. with the Lord’s Prayer.  Board members spent
the weekend at Camp Ebert .  Various work projects were done.
